As we wrap up 2019 and our first full year of being an official ACMP chapter, I want to take a moment to thank you, our members, for making this a great year. Through in-person events, webinars, and networking lunches, I think it’s safe to say that our “change management” community in Charlotte is getting stronger by the day.
It was so great to see many of you at our year-end celebration on December 2 at Duke Energy’s super-cool Optimist Hall in NoDa, where we recapped the year and then heard from Tim McCleary. We also recognized Julie Gawle as our ACMP Charlotte Metro 2019 Volunteer of the Year. Well-deserved and congratulations, Julie!
At the year end celebration, I also shared with the attendees our plans to merge with the Raleigh chapter in 2020. Originally announced as a possibility during our summer membership meeting, this exciting next step for our chapter is becoming a reality. We’re expecting that it will take us into the second quarter of 2020 before all necessary steps are finalized.
There’s a lot of work happening behind the scenes, and you’ll begin to see flavors of the consolidation as early as January. If you’d like to get involved in this effort, or any other of the committees that enable the Charlotte chapter to run, please let us know – it’s an exciting time and we’d love for you to be a part of it!
In closing, I want to wish each of you a happy holiday season. I hope that you will find time to relax, spend time with friends and family, and reflect on all of the blessings we each have been given. Happy Holidays!
