We are now accepting submissions for speakers / presenters for our 2020 events. If you are interested, check out this page. Also check out our recent post about the 2020 programming theme: Meaningful Connections

Our programming theme for 2020 is “Meaningful Connections.” After reading this article, we were inspired to provide opportunities for our members and chapter friends to expand their face-to-face interactions, grow their networks, and, ultimately, create a happier life. We will continue to host our large events, but this year we will also host more informal get-togethers. These informal events may be lunches, breakfasts or happy hours at restaurants in the Charlotte area where little planning will be required by our volunteers, but members will continue to have opportunities to get to know each other and share their change management experiences.

If you are interested in hosting/planning an informal session - with or without a formal program - get in touch with Julie Gawle at julie.m.gawle@gmail.com.

We hope to see you at an upcoming event soon! Check out our Events page for everything we have currently scheduled. But check back often as we will be hosting (on average) some kind of event monthly.

As we wrap up 2019 and our first full year of being an official ACMP chapter, I want to take a moment to thank you, our members, for making this a great year. Through in-person events, webinars, and networking lunches, I think it’s safe to say that our “change management” community in Charlotte is getting stronger by the day.

It was so great to see many of you at our year-end celebration on December 2 at Duke Energy’s super-cool Optimist Hall in NoDa, where we recapped the year and then heard from Tim McCleary. We also recognized Julie Gawle as our ACMP Charlotte Metro 2019 Volunteer of the Year. Well-deserved and congratulations, Julie!

At the year end celebration, I also shared with the attendees our plans to merge with the Raleigh chapter in 2020. Originally announced as a possibility during our summer membership meeting, this exciting next step for our chapter is becoming a reality. We’re expecting that it will take us into the second quarter of 2020 before all necessary steps are finalized.

There’s a lot of work happening behind the scenes, and you’ll begin to see flavors of the consolidation as early as January. If you’d like to get involved in this effort, or any other of the committees that enable the Charlotte chapter to run, please let us know – it’s an exciting time and we’d love for you to be a part of it!

In closing, I want to wish each of you a happy holiday season. I hope that you will find time to relax, spend time with friends and family, and reflect on all of the blessings we each have been given. Happy Holidays!
